Dr. Allan Parungao
Dr. Parungao is the Chief Medical Officer of Athens Robotic Hair Restoration. His leadership and direction drives all of the exceptional hair restoration outcomes our patients are able to achieve.
Dr. Parungao committed to a specialization in Hair Restoration after 12 years as a plastic surgeon. He has averaged more than one million grafts per year since 2011 while treating patients from across the country. Many of Dr. Parungao’s patients travel long distances for his expertise.
Dr Parungao served as the President of the American Society of Hair Restoration Surgery in 2019 and as the Hair Restoration Advisory Member to the Board of Trustees for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is also an active member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).
As a member of the ISHRS and the Global Council of Hair Restoration Surgery Societies, Dr. Parungao is raising awareness of the “Black Market” for hair transplantation. His work in this area influences legal standards for hair transplantation surgery across the world.
As part of his work to drive higher standards of care, Dr. Parungao is featured in the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) Pledge video. In the video, physicians commit to not allowing unlicensed technicians to perform hair restoration procedures. The ISHRA started Fight The FIGHT, which stands for Fight The Fraudulent, Illicit & Global Hair Transplants, to address the issue of unlicensed people performing hair restoration procedures around the world.
Dr. Parungao received his medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He served as Chief Resident there during his residency in plastic surgery. He holds a Master’s degree in physiology from the Chicago Medical School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University.
